Michel Courtois honoured

The “Association des Amis de la Cité de l’espace” awarded its 2019 Grand Prix to Michel Courtois, former director of ESTEC, ESA technical centre, former technical director of Alcatel Space, member of the AAE, consultant in space systems engineering and member of our Academy, for his entire career in the service of French and European space activities.

A ceremony will be held at the City of Space in Toulouse on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 6 p.m.

On this occasion Michel Courtois will give a lecture entitled “Space in 2019: fireworks?”

Nano-satellites, new launchers, constellations, startups and new financing, etc. : space activities have been undergoing many changes in recent years. Michel Courtois will review these major trends. From his experience, built at both CNES, ESA and the space industry, he will share his vision of the role that French and European space craft could play in the future.

During the evening, the Youth Prize will also be presented at the Mars Club of Mirepoix College and the winners of the news competition whose theme for the year 2019 was… The moon.
