On this sad day we bid farewell to our esteemed colleague Yves MARC, correspondent of the Air and Space Academy and member of Section V.

Born on April 21, 1936 in Montréjeau, Yves MARC devoted his life to aviation journalism, becoming an emblematic figure in this field. His skilful pen lit up the pages of “La Dépêche du Midi” for two decades, where he shared his passion for aeronautics through his “Aeronautics and Transport” column, captivating readers with his expertise and contagious enthusiasm.

As a correspondent for Air & Cosmos or the former magazine Aerospatiale, Yves MARC has been a keen observer of developments in the aerospace field, providing insightful analysis and in-depth reporting that has enriched the understanding of these exciting fields.

But Yves Marc was not content to report the events; He lived them to the fullest, always being very close to the drivers, engineers and other players in the sector. His commitment to the Air and Space Academy was exemplary, playing a crucial role in modernizing its communication and outreach its activities.

As an author, Yves MARC has enriched the aeronautical literature with works such as “Des avions et des Hommes” (Loubatières, 1991), “Cent Ans d’avions” (Privat 2001) and “Jean Dieuzaide, rêves d’avions” (Privat 2007). His writings captured the very essence of aviation, immortalizing the men and machines that have marked the history of this fascinating field.

Winner of the Prix de l’Académie du Languedoc, Yves MARC has been rightly recognized for his work and his remarkable writing.

Farewell, dear Yves MARC, we will remember not only your works, but also the kind, generous and passionate man that you were. Your legacy will live on through your writings and in the hearts of all those you touched during your full life.

A tribute will be paid to him at an upcoming session of the Academy.
