Reflections on the challenges facing the European Union in the aeronautics and space sectors

The Air and Space Academy has recently sent to European policymakers this note entitled: “Reflections on the challenges facing the European Union in the aeronautics and space sectors”.

The European Union must not be afraid to assert its strategic autonomy, thanks in part to the advantages it derives from its aerospace capabilities and through the strengthening of these capabilities; it must do what is necessary to maintain an innovative and sustainable industrial base, and it must equip itself with an external intervention capability to guarantee its security.

The Air and Space Academy is ready to place its expertise, its European reach and its independence at the service of the development of these strategic axes, or indeed of any orientation that the European Commission may wish to study.
