We are saddened to announce that Dr Meyer J BENZAKEIN passed away on 18 February 2023. He was elected as a Foreign Associate Member of our Academy before becoming an Emeritus Member in 2013. He was involved in the activities of Section 2.
Dr M J Benzakein was Professor at the Wright Brothers Institute and Associate Vice President for Aerospace Research, a position he held at Ohio State University since January 2005. Prior to his academic career, Dr Benzakein spent 37 years at General Electric Aircraft Engines, where he held positions of increasing responsibility from engineer to manager of all new military and commercial engine programmes and technology development.
He will be honoured at a future session of the Air and Space Academy.
