Michel Blanc winner of the AACE Great Prize 2017

This year the Board of Directors of AACE (Association of Friends of the Cité de l’espace) decided to award their Grand prix to Michel BLANC, astronomer at IRAP (OMP, Toulouse) and scientific delegate of the AERES. A specialist in the physics of terrestrial and planetary magnetospheres, he has participated in the key space missions of this field of research, including the CASSINI-HUYGENS mission to explore the Saturn system.

Michel BLANC, member of the Air and Space Academy, was director of the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory from 1988 to 1998, as well as the astronomical observatory of Marseille-Provence from 2000 to 2005. He also held the position of research director at Ecole Polytechnique from 2007 to 2012.
