AAE publishes its annual report 2025: a year of commitment and expertise

The year 2025 marked a structuring stage for the Académie de l’Air et de l’Espace (AAE), characterized by a renewal of its governance and intense scientific activity. As an independent, multidisciplinary reference, the Academy has reaffirmed its role in addressing the major technological and societal challenges facing aviation, space and defense.

Highlights of 2025:

Decarbonization and safety: Decarbonization of air transport, air safety and strategic access to space were key priorities.

International events: The year was punctuated by highlights such as the METEOPS symposium in Brussels, dealing with the impact of weather on operations, and the Entretiens de Toulouse, which brought together 300 participants.

Outreach and Publications: The AAE has enriched the public debate with the publication of strategic dossiers (notably on the future of European launchers) and technical opinions on interactions between automatic safety systems.

Heritage: An important memorial milestone was reached with the transfer of 88,000 archive photographs to the Aéroscopia museum, where the Academy’s Concorde No. 1 is now a listed historic monument.

Setting course for 2026

Under the presidency of Bruno Stoufflet, the Academy enters 2026 with the ambition of strengthening its European influence and opening up its ranks to greater international and female diversity.
