Death of Bernard Ziegler

It is with great sadness that we learn today of the death of Mr Bernard ZIEGLER, honorary member of the Academy and former technical director of Airbus Industrie, on 4 May 2021.

Bernard Ziegler was chief of the flight crew at the Istres Flight Test Centre in 1968. He was a brand pilot of the 1968 “Mirage G.” He was director of Airbus Industry flight testing in 1972 and created the certification group in 1973 and the “Operation Engineering” group in 1975. He then took over the management of the “Flights support after sale” (1977) and then the technical management in 1985.

Bernard Ziegler brought all his experience to the Academy with Section III, of which he was a very active member, notably at the International Symposium on Risk Taking in 2008 which was the originator of the Dossier 32.
