Career summary

Professor of Space Law at Sapienza University of Rome, Chairman of the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL/ESA), General Counsel of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), Member of the Advisory Council of the ESPI, Senior Legal Advisor of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Honorary Member of the Board of Directors of the IISL. Member of the Board of Directors of the ASI (2014-2018). Legal Expert at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian Delegate to the UN COPUOS, Chairman of its Legal Subcommittee (2004-2006), and Focal point of the Working Group on the Long-Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities. Chair of the New York Multilateral Negotiations on the Code of Conduct on Outer Space Activities (July 2015). Member of the UN Groups of Governmental Experts on TCBMs (UNGA Res. 65/68) (2011-2013) and PAROS (UNGA Res. 72/250) (2018-2019).
