Médiathèque José Cabanis (Grand Auditorium)
1 alley Jacques Chaban Delmas - 31500 - Toulouse - (France)

By Georges Ville, 60 years with Airbus, former President of the AAE

Airbus Industrie became interested in the single-aisle market in 1981 and in 1984 launched the A320 family equipped with CFM56 engines with the support of Air France. Technological innovations and visionary choices in the definition of the aircraft are helping to anticipate its development towards the A320 neo; Boeing will try to follow suit, not without risk, with the 737 Max. Airbus caught up with Boeing in 1999 and overtook it in 2019. The speaker will recall this winning strategy and the lessons for future generations.

Conference organized as part of the National Engineering Days 2024 (JNI)
