L’Académie de l’air et de l’espace, soutenue par l’AIDAA et le SGAC, a organisé ce colloque international sur l’exploration spatiale au Politecnico di Torino du 10 au 12 mai 2023. Présidée par Jean-Jacques Dordain, le colloque a attiré un public de 340 personnes et a permis à 75 intervenants de s’exprimer sur des sujets scientifiques, techniques et sociétaux, répartis en 7 sessions respectivement axées sur les motivations humaines pour l’exploration, l’environnement lunaire, les machines volantes, comment aller plus vite, la recherche d’eau, l’homme et les robots… et aussi quelques aperçus des “missions de rêve” que les jeunes, et moins jeunes, générations souhaitent mener à bien. Les discours principaux ont été prononcés par le DG de l’ESA et par l’astronaute Samantha Cristoforetti. Un débat a opposé deux astrophysiciens (Jean-Pierre Bibring et Nathalie Cabrol) sur la probabilité de l’existence d’une vie extraterrestre.
