The Air and Space Academy very strongly supports the principle of a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the investigation and prevention of accidents and incidents in civil aviation.

Investigations of air accidents, and a number of significant incidents, are a tool that has demonstrated its effectiveness in the remarkable advances in public transport aviation safety in recent decades. These investigations and the bodies that carry them out must therefore benefit from the attention of the political authorities in order to be able to continue this process of permanent progress, a human and economic necessity for the healthy development of civil aviation.

These investigations, because they are the best tool for knowing the causes of air accidents, are also valuable for all those who, in any capacity and in particular as relatives of the victims, wish to know the reasons for the sudden disappearance of human lives.
