AAE Opinion No.9 on The Future of European launchers

Almost twenty years after the first flight of Ariane 5, the decision was taken in 2014 to develop a new generation of European launchers: Ariane 6. Since then, however, increased competition from new operators has reduced projections for Ariane 6. This AAE Opinion 9 makes five recommendations that have in common a keen concern for Europe’s strategic independence, its unity and renewed technological ambition.
