By Vincent Costes, head of GEIPAN at CNES with the participation of Francine Cordier, GEIPAN investigator

GEIPAN studies aerospace observations, unexplained phenomena observed in the sky, that have been reported to it since 1977 (46 years). This is one of the many missions of the CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales). It’s a very original mission. GEIPAN strives to elucidate the strange, sometimes unusual or spectacular phenomena that are witnessed on French territory. The explanations are rational. The approach is scientific. It’s science, it’s CNES in direct contact with and at the service of the population. Vincent COSTES will present the mission and the network organization of this organization. It will show the diversity of the phenomena explained and the interest of the work carried out by GEIPAN. A new phenomenon has just been added to the range of GEIPAN phenomena. This is a very original and little-known phenomenon. It will be presented on this occasion.
