SUMMARY:European satellites for weather forecasting
DESCRIPTION:By Alain Ratier\, AAE member\, former Director General of EUMETSAT \nThe European meteorological ecosystem and the contribution of the MSG and EPS/Metop systems to forecasting will be presented\, together with the observation capabilities of the new-generation MTG and EPS/Metop-SG systems currently being deployed\, and the first examples of their contribution to different types of forecasting. The expected contributions of the three new programs proposed by EUMETSAT (a Sterna constellation of six microwave sounding microsatellites\, an operational Lidar Doppler mission and a contribution to the Sentinel 3 NG Topo swath altimetry mission) will also be discussed\, based on impact studies carried out in 2024.  \n\nFree admission in the limit of available seats. \nIn partnership with: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[image] ©EUMETSAT -ASpot_EPS-SGi
