DESCRIPTION:This training course is organised around thematic encounters spread over 4 half-days. \nThe participant chooses: 1 Interview per half-day from the 18 discussion areas and 72 Interviews on offer\, and builds his or her own “à la carte” training program over 2 days. \nEach Talk is attended by a maximum of 25 people. One or more recognized experts present the topic of the Talk for around 30 to 45 minutes\, followed by exchanges and debates within the audience. Members of the Académie de l’Air et de l’Espace act as moderators\, ensuring the quality of the discussions.   \nTo prepare these encounters\, the experts’ contributions are grouped into a book\, which is sent one month beforehand to registered participants. You can choose the Interview(s) you’d like to attend and prepare the questions you’d like to ask\, either in advance via this website or directly at the Interview. \nNo report of the discussions will be published afterwards\, in order to guarantee industrial confidentiality.

SUMMARY:Travel through a black hole with Interstellar
DESCRIPTION:By Jean-Pierre Luminet\, CNRS Emeritus Research Director\, Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille\, corresponding member of AAE \nA large part of the plot of the famous science-fiction film Interstellar (2014) features several aspects of Einstein’s theory and its extensions: wormholes\, black holes\, distortions of space and time\, string theory\, unification of physics. In this lecture\, which follows the film script step by step\, all these astrophysical themes are deciphered one by one with rigor and clarity. At the end\, or after closing J.-P. Luminet’s book\, you’ll no doubt want to watch the film again to better understand and appreciate it! \nFollowing the conference\, Jean-Pierre Luminet will be available for book signings.
