SUMMARY:Space for European Defence and Security
DESCRIPTION:Lecture by General Jean-Daniel Testé\, former Commander\, Joint Space Command\, French armed forces\, member of the Air and Space Academy \nSpace systems are today providing major contributions to our overall Defence and Security architecture. Secure telecommunications\, intelligence gathering\, positioning and navigation\, space situation awareness\, weather forecasting\, are the main domains where space systems have become essential infrastructures. \nAt the same time\, their vulnerability is a concern\, but several protection techniques are now available to ensure their survivability in case of conflict. The various types of threats and how to protect our space systems will be described. \n  \nFree registration subject to seat availability. \n\nSorry. This form is no longer available. \n\nEvent organised by the Air and Space Academy and hosted by Académie royale de Belgique\, Brussels.

SUMMARY:Paris Air Forum "Sovereignties and AI
DESCRIPTION:Health\, economic\, military\, technological-successive crises highlight the threats looming over our sovereignties. To shield ourselves from these global disruptions\, rich and disruptive innovation is imperative\, with AI at the forefront. In this context\, let us not dream: AI carries as many threats as it does solutions. For the Scientific Council of the Paris Air Forum\, the only certainty is that those who fail to master this technology will inevitably face relegation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe effects of AI are manifold: it can help us reindustrialize our economies\, bring value chains back home\, consolidate the supply chain\, and reaffirm sovereign control over strategic goods. To survive in this emerging world\, we must radically challenge our organizations\, technologies\, and performance to overcome dependencies and design “Sovereignty Chains” capable of weathering the storms on the horizon. These are among the critical issues shaping the current discourse in the sector and will be at the heart of discussions during the twelfth edition of the Paris Air Forum\, where we look forward to welcoming you. \nMax ARMANET – President of the Scientific Council\, President of Forum-Media \nThree major themes\nAeronautics Theme\nAir transport is once again breaking records – but can it remain the same in a rapidly changing world? Faced with the combined challenges of decarbonization\, the integration of artificial intelligence\, and geopolitical tensions\, the industry is undergoing a profound transformation. Discover concrete solutions to help shape the aviation of tomorrow. \nSpace Theme\nEurope’s space sector stands at a crossroads. Struggling with launch capabilities\, lagging behind on constellations\, and relying on others for exploration\, it must rethink its strategy to safeguard its sovereignty. Join the strategic discussions shaping Europe’s space autonomy. \nDefense Theme\nWar has returned to European soil. To respond effectively\, Europe must rethink its strategy\, accelerate rearmament\, and invest heavily in breakthrough technologies. Discover how we can reinvent our defense to ensure the continent’s security and sovereignty. \n\nProgram & registration : parisairforum.fr/\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith the support of Air and Space Academy

SUMMARY:AI\, connectivity and cybersecurity in avionics
DESCRIPTION:By Marc Gatti\, Scientific and Academic Relations Director\, Thales AVS France\, AAE correspondent \nThis presentation introduces the three key pillars of the avionics platform of the future\, and presents the associated challenges. The term “avionics platform” used here includes all the on-board systems needed for an aircraft to fly (whatever the aircraft: commercial\, fighter\, transport\, drone or flying cabins) and all the critical and less critical on-board functions needed for flight (flight control\, propulsion management)\, piloting (fuel management\, anti-icing\, TCAS\, TAWS\, etc.)\, utilities (doors and slides\, toilets\, air conditioning\, etc.)\, maintenance and connectivity. AI\, connectivity and cybersecurity in avionics are the three pillars and the main challenges we face. This conference presents the work in progress. \n\n \n Free registration required\n \n \n\nRegistrations are closed. \n\n\n\n\n\nEn partenariat avec \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nL’AQUI-IHEDN s’associe à ce cycle de conférences\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[image] Image réalisée par IA

SUMMARY:Taikonauts conquer space: China's manned space program
DESCRIPTION:Lecture presented by Philippe Coué\, member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) \nChina has been planning to send its citizens into the cosmos since the start of its space program in the 1960s. But it wasn’t until the end of the twentieth century and China’s economic take-off that this goal became a reality. Today\, Chinese taikonauts occupy Earth orbit on a permanent basis\, and are preparing to walk on the Moon before the end of this decade. They will then settle there permanently to prepare the next step: Mars. \n \n\n\n \n Free admission (subject to availability)\n \n \n\n \n In partnership with:\n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n [image] ©CNSA – Chinese taikonauts near the Lanyue lunar module
