SUMMARY:Exploring Jupiter and its icy moons: the JUICE mission
DESCRIPTION:By Cyril CAVEL\, former JUICE project manager\, Airbus Defence and Space and Olivier WITASSE\, JUICE project scientist\, European Space Agency \nJUICE\, a major project of the European Space Agency\, is a satellite built by Airbus Defense & Space and scheduled for lift-off in April 2023 to reach Jupiter in July 2031. The mission aims to study in detail the giant planet and three of its largest moons Ganymede\, Callisto and Europa. In this animated presentation\, Cyril Cavel and Olivier Witasse will talk about this ambitious project\, its history\, development\, launch\, scientific stakes\, technical\, programmatic and human challenges\, and its complex trajectory. They will also report on the first months of the cruise phase\, including the combined Moon-Earth flyby in August 2024. \n\n Free registration required (subject to availability).\n \n\n\n Registrations are closed. \n \n\n\n\n\n\nEn partenariat avec \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nL’AQUI-IHEDN s’associe à ce cycle de conférences\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[image] ©ESA

SUMMARY:General aviation and hybridization: a solution to accelerate the environmental transition
DESCRIPTION:Hybrid electric aviation offers a new mode of regional transport for multiple applications: passenger transport\, medical evacuation cargo\, organ transport… Hybridization techniques are a first technological leap enabling general aviation to meet its carbon objectives as the best route to more sustainable aviation\, compatible with the transition from kerosene to SAF. Hybridization will also enable air mobility to achieve commercial viability\, particularly in terms of payload\, range and speed\, while reducing emissions. \nAfternoon lectures: \n\n“Hybridization is the first technological leap towards meeting aviation’s carbon objectives ” presented by Benoit FERRAN\, Cofounder & CTO\, Ascendance\n“Voltaéro takes electric aircraft to a whole new level” presented by Jean BOTTI\, Co-Founder\, CEO & CTO\, Voltaéro\n\n\n\n Free admission in the limit of available seats.\n \n\n or to follow live on the Youtube channel of the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie

SUMMARY:[ Postponed] The challenges facing European airports in 2050
DESCRIPTION:[Lecture postponed to a later date].\n \nBy Franck Goldnadel\, President of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur \nThe greening of aviation is often talked about by manufacturers and airlines\, but less so by hospitality structures\, which also have serious challenges to face. These include the airport’s technical resources\, the preparation of refuelling with new fuels\, some of which are difficult to transfer\, and the fair scheduling of flights during the day. What new rules exist? How to apply them? What investments are needed? New taxes\, why do ?… The speaker will give us as complete a picture as possible of the situation with the main achievements under way. \n\n\n Free admission in the limit of available seats.\n \n\n In partnership with:\n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n [image] © Pixabay

SUMMARY:Human-Systems Integration: A discussion of artificial intelligence
DESCRIPTION:By Prof. Guy André Boy\, FlexTech Chair\, ESTIA & CentraleSupélec (Paris Saclay University)\, AAE member \nWe now live in a digital and virtual world in which we seek ever closer proximity to reality. Artificial intelligence (AI) has invaded our lives\, and the relationship between humans and AI should be further explored from the point of view of human-systems integration\, and more particularly when we use models to assess their representativeness of the real both physically and in terms of understanding the laws that govern their interactions. \nWe’re talking more and more about autonomous machines. How can technologies help solve problems in unexpected situations? The concept of autonomy requires further examination\, particularly with regard to questions of overall situational understanding\, decision-making and risk-taking. The integration of human beings into systems with increasing autonomy raises new issues such as trust\, collaboration and multi-agent performance. We address these issues. \nTo what extent should the machine be considered a tool or a partner? Examples will be taken from aeronautics and other industrial sectors. \n\n\n Free admission in the limit of available seats.\n \n\n In partnership with:\n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n [image] © Pixabay
