Les utilisations comme les communications\, la navigation\, la météorologie\, la surveillance du climat\, la sécurité\, les objets connectés nécessitent un grand nombre de satellites de toutes tailles. De 120 satellites déployés en 2010 nous sommes passés à plus de 4500 satellites mis en orbite en 2025. \nEn conséquence\, depuis une dizaine d’années\, les projets de nouveaux lanceurs spatiaux se multiplient dans le monde. De nouveaux investisseurs imaginent un marché en croissance rapide pour des petits lanceurs\, voire des micro-lanceurs. Le renouveau de la course à la Lune\, à Mars et le déploiement rapide de grandes constellations nécessitent des lanceurs toujours de plus en plus gigantesques.
