SUMMARY:Aeronautical propulsion facing to societal challenges
DESCRIPTION:Air traffic has grown significantly over the past 50 years\, accompanying the development of international trade and a very broad democratization of travel. Growth prospects and societal issues involve more than ever strong improvements\, including technological disruptions. \n\nPresented by Dr Stéphane ORCEL\, Director of Product and Market Strategy\, Safran Aircraft Engines\n\nAir growth has been supported by considerable progress in terms of economic and energy efficiency\, enabling a strong democratization of travel. What are the future prospects and effectiveness of our air travel in the face of societal issues? \n\nJérôme BONINI\, Director of Research and Technology\, Safran Aircraft Engines \n\nAeronautical propulsion has reduced its fuel and CO2 consumption by 45 over the past 50 years\, particularly the latest generation of CFM/LEAP engines in 2016. What are the technical challenges and solutions for an ever greener future of aeronautical propulsion? \nFree admission in the limit of available seats.

SUMMARY:Space surveillance: sovereignty and protection
DESCRIPTION:Lecture by Anne-Marie Mainguy\, president of AIr and Space Academy\, high counsellor at ONERA\n\n\nSpace surveillance has two different reasons for existing one to meet the specific needs of the military (sovereignty)\, the other more general to avoid collisions (protection). The first need appeared immediately to the Americans and the Russians\, which led to the establishment of catalogs\, the second is the consequence of the increase of satellites and debris in orbit. The catalogues\, established by the means of detections\, allow to evaluate situations\, improved by prosecution\, it is possible to identify or launch the evasive maneuvers. SUMMARY:Moving from cyber-security towards cyber-resilience in aviation
DESCRIPTION:Lecture by Patrick Mana\, Cyber-security Program Manager\, EATM-CERT Manager at EUROCONTROL \nThe cyber threats to aviation take numerous forms: state-sponsored attacks\, cyber-crime\, hacktivists. The scale of the threat means it is no longer truly possible to be completely cyber-secure. The real goal should be “cyber-resilience\,” focusing both on defending against attacks and quickly reacting should such an attack succeed. We have to recognise that cyber-attacks are and will successfully hit aviation. Taking this viewpoint could help ensure that attacks create less significant interruptions to services for shorter periods of time. \n \n\nOops! We could not locate your form.
