Great Prize 2017 – Ariane 5

Successes of the Ariane 5 launcher

On 17 November 2016, Ariane 5 launched 4 Galileo satellites, successfully completing its 75th consecutive launch since April 2003. In doing so, Ariane 5 beat the record previously held by Ariane 4. Since then, the series has continued flawlessly with 81 consecutive successful launches.
This achievement rewards the efforts and quality of teams in several areas:
– The technical field in advanced disciplines,
– The space industry at European level,
– Business and its global practice.
It has also made it possible to form a long-term basis for the development of space policy up to a European Union level.
An industrial success based on an efficiently organized European network and high quality, punctual, trackable production.
A commercial success based on a lasting relationship of trust with all the major telecommunications operators and excellent punctuality in launching deadlines.
This success is obviously the result of the perfect combined performance of managers from the commercial operator, the agencies and industry.
