It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Germain CHAMBOST, member of the Academy, pilot, journalist and writer on October 29, 2021.
Germain Chambost was a member of our Academy since 1990, a member of Section V and the Awards & Medals Commission. After a career as a fighter and bombing pilot (6700 hours of flight) he became a journalist at Sud Ouest and served 2 terms as president of the AJPAE. Writer, he was the author of many books such as: “De Mermoz à l’ordinateur”. “Les Pilotes”. “Les Chevaliers de l’apocalypse”. “Little Boy”. “Mirages au Tchad”. “Les hommes de l’Aéropostale”, “La promesse de l’envol”, “Un bref instant d’éternité” (poems), “Algérie, d’amour et de guerre”.
A tribute will be paid to him at the next session of the Academy.
